JESUS

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is God's power to us who are being saved.
1 Corinthians 1:18

JESUS

Light, our one and only defense in darkness. It is in darkness where predators lie in wait for prey. It is there that even good things turn into a stumbling block (John 11:10). Living in darkness leaves us standing still in fear not knowing where, when, or how to move. It is a fear that is paralyzing, but there is a way to conquer the darkness, it is the light. Where there is any presence of light the darkness flees.

In our spiritual life our sinfulness is represented by darkness. The Bible leads us to the light we truly need, "to open their eyes so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that by faith in Me they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified.’ (Acts 26:18). The light brings with it security, comfort, and courage. The light frees us from the bondage of darkness, it gives us the ability to see everything for what it is, to see the grace of God and the lies of the enemy. Where there is light, darkness is overcome. the Bible tells us Jesus is the light that cannot be overcome with darkness "That light shines in the darkness, yet the darkness did not overcome it."  (John 1:5) In the  darkness we are all doomed. All humanity is living in the effects of sin, but there is hope. The hope of the One God sent. The One who took the punishment for our sins by dying on a cross so that He could offer forgiveness to all who come to Him seeking it (1 Peter 2:24). The One who died and three days later rose from the grave (1 Corinthains 15:4). The One who knew all of your sins before you committed them yet still loved you enough to die for you (Romans 5:6-8). The One who is the Light of the world and has conquered the darkness (John 8:12). The One who was prophesied about for hundreds of years (Isaiah 9:6) has come and the One who has come is coming again (Revelation 22:12). The One who has the power to cleanse your sins and bring you out of the darkness into the light. Do you know Him? He is the one and only Son of God. He is Jesus Christ.

DO YOU KNOW HIM?

Have you humbled yourself before Jesus as Lord in your life? He has given His life so that you may have life and have it in abundance. Trusting in Jesus is not based on a prayer we say or anything we do. A relationship with Jesus begins in our heart when we fully begin to have faith in Him, who He is, and what He has done. Jesus is the One and only Son of God who humbly gave His life on the cross as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins so that you and I can be forgiven. Three days after being placed in the tomb God raised Him from the dead as a conquerer of sin and death. By Jesus' death and resurrection we are able to experience the grace of God if we put our faith in Him. Have you seen the light? Do you have faith in Jesus?
